I enjoyed reading this. However, the 3rd edition really isn't that much different from the other editions -just a couple updates. (I know this because I own the 2nd edition as well)

Mostly a good read and realisticly priced by BAR

I expected a more realistic covering of the archeological evidence concerning the prophets rather than a more biblical view. once into the first millennium bce it does a good job of covering the material. I purchased my new copy from Biblical Archeology Review for $30 which is a more realistic price for a paperback book.
