If you can only get one book on essential oils for kids this is it! Lots of info on SAFETY

Finally I've found a good book on essential oils! I have just recently dove into the world of essential oils and have been slowly building my collection of them. I am still very much a novice though and have been trying to learn as much as I can about each and it has been a little mind boggling. Sure you can find lots of info on the web, but a lot of the information conflicts and there is just so much out there. Having a book with all the important info compact and at your fingers is the way to go. So I have been purchasing tons of books about essential oils and finding most also had conflicting information, unsafe information and were very poorly written. I also have children and have been in search for creditable and SAFE information on how to use these oils on them.

First off this book is well written. It is not just thrown together with useless info, miss spelled words and horrible grammar like a lot of books I have come across lately. Secondly, it goes extensively in detail on what essential oils are, the differences between them all, how they are extracted, application, how to blend them, all about carrier oils, how to store them, and much more.

And mostly importantly the author goes into depth about the safety of using essential oils not only on adults but kids too. He addresses which oils you can and cannot use on children and which age of a child too. He talks about appropriate dilution amounts for each age of children and always stresses safety along the way.

For example, did you know you should NEVER use peppermint oil on a child? Information not provided in other books or online by uneducated bloggers. After researching this more I learned it can cause seizures in children! And now for the horrible mom moment-my daughters been sick and I have been putting peppermint oil on her chest to help with her cough & congestion!

And did you know essential oils should not be use on babies under 10 weeks or that adding drops of oil into the bath is actually unsafe because it just floats on the top (because it is an oil and not water soluble-duh) and can still irritate your child's skin because concentrated amounts can get on their skin? So a remedy to this is to mix a couple drops with a half cup of milk will help disperse and dilute the oils throughout the bath evenly.

So in addition to all the vital safety information provided the author also provided SAFE very diluted recipes for children by ages and ailments.

Great book for beginners

Great book. I just started using essential oils and I didn't want to keep going to the internet for dilution instructions and what to use for kids so I decided to buy this book. Very well explained. Author does love using lavender and chamomile but honestly those seem to be the most obvious safe oils on children and babies. Would recommend.

A great contemporary Romance story, highly recommended

I thoroughly enjoyed this book. If you are a Romance novel lover, you won't be surprised that Simon and Jessica are going to end up together by the end of the book, but the story that gets them there is delightful. There is humor here and there, enough to make me laugh out loud a couple of times. The characters are well written which makes them easy to connect to while you read about them. There are some surprising twists and turns on Simon and Jessica's journey that I believe you will enjoy.

Being a soccer player, it was fun to read a book w/ a soccer twist to it. The characters were pretty good, really liked Simon's character a lot!

Jessica was a bit too dramatic at times and the story took a horrible nose dive towards the end with way too many dramatic events coming together. Needed more planning and the lover's quarrel was not well thought out. Seemed rushed together at the end. Better luck next time.

Kick It Up by Carol Ericson has all the ingredients of a wonderful adult contemporary romance novel:

Kick It Up was actually a very good adult romance novel. It didn't change my life or anything, but it's an entertaining story worth reading!

I don't consider myself a soccer fan. In fact, the only time I even think about soccer is when the World Cup is on television, and that is because it's unavoidable that time of year. If we were to play the word association game right now, ya know the one where you say a word and I tell you the first thing that pops into my head, it would go a little something like this: You say soccer. I say David Beckham. Yep, my soccer knowledge is very limited, but that didn't keep me liking this novel. My guess, soccer fans will have a greater appreciation for this story, but this story is for everyone. Soccer fan or not, you will enjoy this story if you like to read sexy, contemporary romance novels.

The characters had some stereotypical characteristics, but they also had their own charm and attitude. In my opinion, the characters were unique enough to be considered original.

Simon is a professional soccer player with a bad boy image. His father doesn't think soccer is a steady career choice, but Simon is intent on proving him wrong. Simon's character underwent a lot of growth and development in this novel. The guy you meet at the beginning of this novel is a lot different from the guy at the end of this story. I thought Simon's journey was entertaining and inspiring.

Jessica grew up with wealth and opportunity, but she wants a chance to make it on her own, away from her father's name. I really like Jessica because she has so much spark and confidence. She's a fun, go-getter type of girl. I really enjoyed her character, especially her little devious side. Two words: bathroom sprinkler! That was one of my favorite parts. I cracked up!

Simon and Jessica together is the best combination. They have a instant connection, but it isn't ridiculous or unbelievable. They have a realistic relationship, business related at first and then more later. Their relationship develops over time, and they don't completely change who they are the second they meet. They have struggles and conflicts. Their relationship felt real.

I gave Kick It Up by Carol Ericson 4 STARS (3.5 STARS). I recommend this book for a fun, sexy read.

I expected a more realistic covering of the archeological evidence concerning the prophets rather than a more biblical view. once into the first millennium bce it does a good job of covering the material. I purchased my new copy from Biblical Archeology Review for $30 which is a more realistic price for a paperback book.
