This is an excellent resource for ideas on ecological restoration treatments to implement or experiment with in deserts. The restoration treatments covered in this book are diverse, ranging from techniques for retaining water on site to increasing plant survival through various protection treatments. I have been working on desert restoration projects for a decade, and this book is one I regularly consult when planning restoration projects. In addition to the practical ideas on specific treatments, the book provides a readable overview of desert ecology and a good context of desert restoration.
