I'll Be Buying This Author Again.

What a wonderful book. I saw this as a coming edition and wrote the date down and purchased it 2 days ago. This is my first time reading this author but I'm going to download the other book that I saw that she has written.
I loved Georgia and Nick. Loved Nick's sister Celeste, his father, her father, and his grandmother. I hated his best friend with a passion. It's true that something can be right under your nose but you don't or refuse to see and believe it This story was about true friendship and how people protect others regardless of who they are if they are true to you and you are true to them.
It's a nice romance story. I started it that night and went to bed and read some more until I couldn't keep my eyes open. Got up the next morning and read for 1/2 hour before getting up, went to work and read on my lunch hour and finished it up when I got home. It was that good. Makes you want to see what the outcome will be.
Well worth the price.

Friends, Lovers, and More...

Full review coming via Romance Novels in Color, but I have to say I thoroughly enjoyed this story. This is my second read by Ms. Renee, and I haven't been disappointed. You can tell from the first few paragraphs that you're going to get a satisfactory reading experience with well thought out characters, and you most certainly get that in A Bookie's Odds. Who doesn't love a well-written friends to lovers trope? Georgia was spunky with the perfect amount of sweet. Nicholas was a gentlemanly hero. Flawed, vulnerable in the right ways, and downright lovable. A job well done Ms. Renee.

What I loved most about this story was Georgia, the heroine. She was smart, independent, strong, tough, no nonsense. I wish more books were written heroines like her.
This was a friends to lovers book but 85% of the book was the friendship and not much else was left to the development of them as a couple/lovers. There wasn't much heat or romance to this book. I definitely got the sense of affection between the H and h, but at no point to they ever declare their love for one another...not in words or even in thoughts.
I think the author should consider writing another book continuing this story.
